An apprentice who joined us last spring has just completed his one-year placement and has been made a permanent member of our growing team.
Will McSwiggan has become invaluable here in the Intonation office and with his new title of Senior Administrator, Will undertakes a range of tasks from project management and document processing to liaising with clients and helping out colleagues.
But life hasn't always been so busy for Will. The 22-year-old from Fareham, who has an IT qualification from Fareham College, was unemployed and on a customer service work experience placement with Portsmouth Job Centre when he was offered an interview as a Business Administration Apprentice at Intonation - with just 10 minutes' notice.
One year in and our new team member's verdict on working at Intonation couldn't be better. "I'd give it 10/10; I get to 'earn and learn' and I can't imagine anywhere better," said Will.
As the first apprentice, we've had, we're delighted with what Will's achieved and how he makes a difference to the day-to-day running of the Intonation office. It's great how one advert turned into an invaluable business opportunity for a local young person- so much so, that we've since offered the opportunity to another apprentice!
"I work with a lovely bunch of around 20 people and it's great to have seen the company grow since being here," Will added. "Working at Intonation truly is a one-of-a-kind experience; I speak to clients on a daily basis and get a real insight into how a translation company works."
